A day long event for Kent creative professionals.

A day long networking and learning event for creative professionals and artists with opportunities to meet with fellow creatives and to listen to a number of professionals talking about issues that matters to the creative sector. Our ultimate goal being to support and promote the artistic, cultural and creative sector in the county as a whole.

11:00   Talk by Denise Wilton from the Mylan Focus : Using Relationship Marketing To Promote Your Arts Business Better.

Denise runs a successful business & marketing consultancy in Medway, she’s also a professional actress and offers interactive workshops on a range of themes. In her talk, Denise discusses the changing face of marketing and event promotion, from her years as the Arts Marketing Manager of the theatres, art galleries and arts outreach work in Medway right through to a new digital era where relationship marketing and social media offers new opportunities. Marketing on a shoe string does not necessarily mean low impact and low reach. In fact Denise demonstrates how just one person can reach 1,000s, build a brand, promote events and sell with a careful strategy!

13:30   Talk by Crista Cloutier from The Working Artist: The Journey of a Working Artist: Creating a Career in the Arts 

In this talk, Crista Cloutier explores the journey of the artist, how one finds voice, develops it, and uses it to create a professional career as a working artist. Cloutier uses her own background as an arts dealer, curator, publisher, writer and artist to illustrate her message of the importance of practice, authenticity, and the coupling of tenacity with audacity. She also speaks of the countless artists she has collaborated with, both blue-chip and just-emerging, and the lessons they have taught her about devotion to craft and work. 

14:00   Talk by Sian Murphy and Mark Jennings from Stormchasers Digital : What you need to know before you get your website.

Making sure you own and have access to all the bits you need, what are the costs, expectations about what will and won’t happen when it goes live.
