A simple get together for like-minded creatives and artists to chat, learn, discuss ideas and get support. It’s also a good time to get feedback from the group, share news, reflect on the past weeks and talk about all things creatives.. It’s about building a more robust community where the support comes from the community itself.
“Nearly 20 years ago, voluntary redundancy gave me the opportunity to fully embrace life as an artist. I studied for a degree in Fine Art, when I trained as a sculptor – rather to my own surprise, as until then I’d always thought I wanted to be a painter! But fairly early on in the course, I was seduced by 3 dimensional work, and I now construct sculptures from a variety of materials. I also love to work with kiln fused glass, from which I generally make decorative panels.”

“As a mixed media artist with a passion for recycling inherited from mum long before it became fashionable, I’ve become increasingly fascinated by the process of botanical (eco) dyeing and printing in recent years – the idea of producing magical colour and pattern from freely available plant materials and a few basic bits of equipment astonishes and excites me in equal measure. I experiment with vintage papers and fabrics and love to make small hand-made books with the results.
I hope to share something of the excitement I feel every time I unwrap a bundle from the dye pot.”
Many free hours go into organising these free meet-ups. If you enjoy attending and benefit from them, you may like to show your support and consider donating to Kent Creative. Thank you!
