Mark Brophy:

“What a pleasure to take part in this project, and an honour to be included in such a wonderful collection of photos. The calendar allowed me to indulge myself in a whole week of photography and to immerse myself in this art form, capturing what was a rather odd year, with even the trains wearing masks! This collection captures the high, lows and quirkiness of Folkestone and its inhabitants and it is amazing to have this snapshot for future generations to enjoy.
Great to see all the contributions and thanks for seeing it through despite obvious challenges!”

Kate Lawton:

“It was great to be involved in A Year in the Life of Folkestone. Of course, when I signed up, I never imagined what an extraordinary year it would be! Capturing images reflecting life in our town during the pandemic was challenging, not least because we were all isolated and told to keep away from each other. I felt a great sense of community with other contributors. I loved looking at the moments others had captured.”

James Willmott:

“I have just one word to sum it up ‘brilliant’. Thank you for all the effort in pulling this together during such difficult times for everyone involved. We never gave up hope and here is the end result for everyone to appreciate and reflect on in years to come.”
