Kent Creative Meet-up – Medway – Tuesday 7th December 2021

A simple get together for like-minded creatives and artists to chat, learn, discuss ideas and get support. It’s also a good time to get feedback from the group, share news, reflect on the past weeks and talk about all things creatives..  It’s about building a more robust community where the support comes from the community itself.

• 10:30 Everyone arrives & networking & welcome
• 10:45 Going round the group for quick introductions.
• 11:00 Textile artist Karen Morton

Karen Morton

A collection of two and three-dimensional textile work, created through a practice which embodies the joy of making and serendipity from engagement with materials, processes and objects. Inspiration for this work comes from various sources and frequently concerns the local natural environment. Many of these pieces explore how textiles can define and suggest spaces, bringing attention to human interaction and the sensory qualities of textiles.
My career includes working in the textile and print industries, and as a book and magazine designer. Advocating the power of kinaesthetic learning, I teach within schools and workshops, aiming to share the sense of well-being that can be gained from experimenting and making. I am a member of two Textile groups, exhibiting in London and Kent.
